The walk begins at the North Egmont Visitor Centre.

We follow the boardwalk which is uphill and to the right of the Visitors Centre.

Ignore the turnoff to the Viewing Platform (or take a short detour, check it out and return to this point) and continue walking straight ahead.

We carry on up past the historic Camphouse, which can provide accommodation for 32 people in 4 rooms. Accommodation can be booked at the North Egmont Visitors Centre.

At this point (next to the Camphouse) we take the left-hand path.

We go through the gate at the left and follow the Translator Road...

...past this turnoff.

We continue walking along the Translator Road...

...and cross over this ford which is usually dry.

Now the Ngatoro Loop Track branches off to the left and downhill.

The forest starts to become more beautiful...

Here we are in Goblin Forest...

...which just gets more and more lush and beautiful.

The spiky flax-like plant is Toi or Mountain Cabbage Tree (Cordyline indivisa) - a spectacular and fairly common native plant in the Egmont National Park.

The track climbs back uphill.

Look up and we see gorgeous Goblin Forest.

Here the Ngatoro Loop Track joins the Connett Loop Track and climbs a set of steps...
