HINERAU WALK - Te Urewera
This is a Whare Weta (a Weta house). Weta are large invertebrate creepy-crawlies that scare the crap out of some people. Coincidentally, as I am writing this, Ginny found a large weta - in my empty-apart-from-lots-of-coffee-grounds coffee plunger!
HINERAU WALK - Te Urewera
Anyway, when we open up the Whare Weta, we can see if there are any Weta asleep inside. None today.

First waterfall we come to is the 15 metre high Bridal Veil Falls.
HINERAU WALK - Te Urewera
Further along the track is a rough side track which leads to a clamber down this bank to a fantastic viewpoint on a rock. It's a perfect picnic spot in the sun.

...And this is the view from the rock. Te Tangi o Hinerau - the lower portion of the Aniwaniwa Falls.
