TATARE TUNNELS WALK - Westland Tai Poutini National Park
We follow a 4WD track for ten minutes and descend to a view of scenic Tatare Gorge. The track then narrows and steepens for the short climb to the Tatare Tunnels. Next time we will bring a torch and waterproof footwear for exploring the tunnels. (We didn't this time. Doh!)

The DOC brochure calls this "the scenic Tatare Gorge". Hmmmm... Wellllll... It IS slightly scenic.
