The walk to the Ambury Monument is an easy 10 minutes 380m each way beginning at the carpark by the North Egmont Visitors Centre.

Follow the boardwalk which is uphill and to the right of the Visitors Centre.

Ignore the turnoff to the Viewing Platform (or take a short detour, check it out and return to this point) and continue walking straight ahead.

Carry on up past the historic Camphouse, which can provide accommodation for 32 people in 4 rooms. Accommodation can be booked at the North Egmont Visitors Centre.

...until we reach the Ambury Monument, which commemorates the brave actions of climber Arthur Ambury who gave his life on 3 June 1918 in an attempt to save William Edwin Gourlay who had slipped on ice. Both climbers died when they fell over the bluff.
