FANTAIL FALLS - Mount Aspiring National Park
A very easy 5 minute 200 metres bush walk on a very civilised concrete track to a view of a beautiful fan-shaped waterfall across a river.

The walk starts here, at the rather large carpark next to the highway.

Here, we take the path to the right.

And now we carry on around to the left.

What a nice path... It feels so luxurious after walking a whole lot of other tracks.

This is the end of the civilised track. Beyond the information panels, we can step down onto the riverbed and get closer to the waterfall.

The Fantail Falls are nice enough but the amazing thing at least at the time of these photos was the hundreds of little piles of rocks left behind by visitors. After the next good bit of rain, they were gone.

This is a very popular attraction - probably because it sounds nice, it's right by the main highway and it's only a 5 minute walk.
