This 1 hour 3.5 km return walk begins at the summit of Haast Pass Tioripatea Highway - a peaceful place apart from the occasional whooping of triumphant cyclists. The track climbs steadily to a lookout point.

Described by DOC as an "easy ascending track to a viewpoint with a stunning vista". Well, it's not really THAT easy and the vista isn't really all that stunning - but it's pretty good exercise after sitting in a car and eating road food...

And this is it... The stunning vista. Not that stunning? Well, at least there's a seat. This is the view to the West.
